Building core skills and preparing for Coach Pitch
The Fundamentals Division is for returning players and older beginners who are ready for a more structured learning environment. This division introduces true baseball concepts while keeping the experience fun and age-appropriate. Players work on proper throwing mechanics, glove work, hitting technique, and developing better awareness on the field.
Practices and games are more organized, with stations, skill-based drills, and gentle expectations for listening, focus, and effort. Game play incorporates simplified rules such as recording outs, running bases correctly, and learning where to make the play on defense.
What this division emphasizes:
Solidifying key fundamentals: throwing, catching, grounders, batting stance and swing
Better understanding of positions and basic defensive plays
More structured practices and purposeful repetition
Introduction to outs, innings, and basic game strategy
Growing independence, confidence, and sportsmanship
This division prepares players for the transition to Coach Pitch the following season.
