Highlights for the 2009 AAA 9-10 All-Star Team
Game 1 (June 24)
The 2009 West Plains Little League AAA 9-10 team opened the District 13 All-Star tournament with a 8-1 victory over Lakeside All-Stars.
The 9-10 team rode the strong pitching and hitting of Mason VanStone to the victory. Mason threw a complete game on only 69 pitches. Mason struck out 15 of the 18 outs and was backed up by two great defensive plays by Dallas Dewey in center field and one play by Chirs Fuentes at 3rd base.
Mason also led the offense with a 2-run double. Dylan Aurthor added a triple.
The 9-10 AAA team will next play South Spokane West at 3:00 on Friday, June 26.

He Is Just a Little Boy
He stands at the plate with his heart pounding fast.
The bases are loaded, the die has been cast.
Mom and Dad cannot help him, he stand all alone.
A hit at this moment would send the team home.
The ball meets the plate, he swings and he misses.
There's a groan from the crowd, with some boos and hisses.
A thoughtless voice cries, "Strike out the bum"
Tears fill his eyes, the game's no longer fun.
So open your heart and give him a break,
For it's moments like this, a man you can make.
Please keep this in mind, when you hear someone forget,
he is just a little boy, and not a man yet.
