Highlights for the 2008 10-11 All-Star Team

Game 4 (July 5)

West Plains lost to Spokane South East 11-1 to be eliminated from the 11-10 District 13 District Tournament.

A valiant effort by Conner Pratt and Noah Ziemann on the mound.  Sammy Campa scored our only run on a hit by Streeter Manley.

Game 3 (July 3)

West Plains defeated Central Valley 9-6 @ Salnave Field in a loser out game.

Logan Pratt followed up his one hit gem with just enough arm strength to get another win striking out 7. Ty Graham came in and picked up the save strking out 3.

West Plains took the lead for good when Andrew Tenney got his first hit of the tournament which was the game winning RBI.

On offense, Sammy Campa went 3-4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI while Jacob Whiteley went 3-4 with 1 run and 2 RBI.

Also contributing on offense, Ty Graham went 3-4 (one double) with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI, Noah Ziemann went 2-4 with 1 run scored, Tristan Chapman went 1-3 with a double and scored a run, and Streeter Manley went 2-4 with scored a run.

West Plains will next play against Spokane South East on July 5th @ 6:00 @ Salnave 3.

Game 2 (July 2)

West Plains defeated Lake Spokane 8-1.

Noah Ziemann threw 85 pitches, had 9 K's and only gave up three hits.  Ty Graham had two pitches for the final out which was a fantastic catch by Sammy Campa in center field.

Ty Graham went 3-3 and scored two runs. Noah Ziemann went 2-3 and also scored twice.  Logan Pratt went 1-2 with 2 RBI's. Streeter Manley went 1-3 with a run scored.  Jacob Whiteley went 1-3 with a double, a run scored and 2 RBI's.  Tristan Chapman was 0-1 with two walks and two runs scored.  Bryton Millhouse also had two walks and two runs scored.

West Plains advnaces to play July 3rd at 3 pm at Salnave field 3.

Game 1 (June 30)

Spokane North defeated West Plains 11-1 to knock West Plains into the loosers bracket.

It was a very good game until the bottom of the 5th - we gave up 10 runs on a multitude of errors. 

Sammy Campa was 1-2 with a walk and our only run scored.  Ty Graham went 2-3.  Noah Ziemann walked once and had our only RBI.  Logan Pratt went 1-2.

Next game is Wednesday, July 2nd @ 3:00 at Salnave.

He Is Just a Little Boy
He stands at the plate with his heart pounding fast.
The bases are loaded, the die has been cast.
Mom and Dad cannot help him, he stand all alone.
A hit at this moment would send the team home.
The ball meets the plate, he swings and he misses.
There's a groan from the crowd, with some boos and hisses.
A thoughtless voice cries, "Strike out the bum"
Tears fill his eyes, the game's no longer fun.
So open your heart and give him a break,
For it's moments like this, a man you can make.
Please keep this in mind, when you hear someone forget,
he is just a little boy, and not a man yet.
