West Plains advances to play North Spokane All-Stars on Monday in the District 5 District Championship game. The West Plains All-Stars will have to beat North Spokane twice to earn their second straight trip to the Junior League State Tournament.
Josh Harbolt earned the victory on the mound for the West Plains All-Stars with one inning of scoreless relief. Harbolt was aided by a tremendous throw from Ryan Byrnes in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the go ahead run on third base, South Spokane hit a fly ball to right field. With the game on the line, Byrnes made a tremendous one-hop throw to home where catcher Bryce Dressler easily applied the tag to the potential go-ahead run preserving the tie.
West Plains scored the go ahead run in the seventh when Ronnie Miller started the rally with a one out single. Harbolt hit in to a fielders choice that forced Miller at second base. Harbolt then stole second with a great head first slide and was replaced by Crooks who scored two pitches later when Thomas lined a single to center field.
Cody Carr lead West Plains early in the game with a two run single in the second, a RBI single in the third, and a RBI ground out in the fifth. Carr finished the game 2-for-4 with 4 RBI.

He Is Just a Little Boy
He stands at the plate with his heart pounding fast.
The bases are loaded, the die has been cast.
Mom and Dad cannot help him, he stand all alone.
A hit at this moment would send the team home.
The ball meets the plate, he swings and he misses.
There's a groan from the crowd, with some boos and hisses.
A thoughtless voice cries, "Strike out the bum"
Tears fill his eyes, the game's no longer fun.
So open your heart and give him a break,
For it's moments like this, a man you can make.
Please keep this in mind, when you hear someone forget,
he is just a little boy, and not a man yet.
