Highlights for the 2006 11 Year-Old All-Star Team
Game 2 (July 2)
Walla Walla Valley jumped out to an early lead and coasted to a 12-1 victory in a 4 inning game shortened by the 10-run rule.
The loss eliminates the WPLL All-Stars from the double elimination tournament.
Game 1 (July 1)
West Plains Little League open the 10-11 Year-Old tournament with a 10-9 loss to North Spokane Little League.
West Plains jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning before North Spokane scored 2 in the second and seven in the third.
Down 9-2, West Plains rallied for 6 runs in the bottom of the fifth to pull within one run, 9-8. The fifth was highlighted by a two out, two run double by Matthew Cristelli.
North Spokane was able to add a much need insurance run in the top of the sixth to make the score 10-8, and held on as West Plains scored one run and had the tying run on third base when the final out was made.

He Is Just a Little Boy
He stands at the plate with his heart pounding fast.
The bases are loaded, the die has been cast.
Mom and Dad cannot help him, he stand all alone.
A hit at this moment would send the team home.
The ball meets the plate, he swings and he misses.
There's a groan from the crowd, with some boos and hisses.
A thoughtless voice cries, "Strike out the bum"
Tears fill his eyes, the game's no longer fun.
So open your heart and give him a break,
For it's moments like this, a man you can make.
Please keep this in mind, when you hear someone forget,
he is just a little boy, and not a man yet.
