Opening Day Ceremony
The West Plains Little League kicked off its season with an opening day ceremony
on May 1.
The day featured our teams from AAA and Majors lining up on the field and
each player being announced. We then had Adam Paulson lead the players in
reciting the Little League Pledge. The Medical Lake High School ROTC Color
Gaurd presented the colors and Jessi Hallett-Labish of Cheney High School
sang the National Anthem. The ceremony concluded with Lt. Col. J.P. Prince
throwing out the ceremonial first pitch to his son Devon Prince.
Following the ceremony, all of the teams played in a two inning jamboree
and West Plains Little League served hotdogs, chips and pop to all parents
and players.
Here are some pictures from our ceremony. If you would like pictures you
have taken to be posted as well, send them to Adam
Smith.

Next Board Meeting
Wednesday, Jan 29th, 2012 @ 2:00 pm Board Members House - Envelope Stuffing
He Is Just a Little Boy
He stands at the plate with his heart pounding fast.
The bases are loaded, the die has been cast.
Mom and Dad cannot help him, he stand all alone.
A hit at this moment would send the team home.
The ball meets the plate, he swings and he misses.
There's a groan from the crowd, with some boos and hisses.
A thoughtless voice cries, "Strike out the bum"
Tears fill his eyes, the game's no longer fun.
So open your heart and give him a break,
For it's moments like this, a man you can make.
Please keep this in mind, when you hear someone forget,
he is just a little boy, and not a man yet.
